Geir Tvedt is a police officer operating in Lillehammer. He is a friend and co-worker of Laila Hovland and is a big Elvis fan and Elvis impersonator. Geir Tvedt is portrayed by Norwegian actor Kyrre Hellum.

Geir previously "starred" as "Geir Elvis" in the same bar, which was bought by Frank Tagliano in the first episode of the show. He also wants to keep his gig with Frank as the bar owner, but Frank, not being very understanding in that matter, canceled Geir's Elvis show. Geir also had some gigs on the police's Christmas parties, which is briefly mentioned by chief constable (Norwegian: Politimester) Arve Østli.

Geir becomes very suspicious about Frank, and soon starts his own investigation about Islamic terrorism, since Frank looks quite similar to a Muslim terrorist on the run, and was seen together with Yusuf, a man from Frank's integration course. Laila first laughs it off as ridiculous, when Geir presents her his results and photoshopped comparison of the two men. While the events in the show go on, Geir openly attacks Frank during the Birkebeiner race and finally is suspended from his job at the police department.

Geir falls into a deep depression, but Laila pays him a visit and surprises Geir with a ticket for a flight to America so he may visit Graceland. It is revealed that the entire police crew paid for this trip. When Laila visits him, viewers can see next to the doorbell a pottery-made-door-sign with the other Tvedt family members (Maja, Aron and Lisa-Marje) - who are all striked out except for Geir. It can be assumed he's divorced.

In America, Geir starts to resume his investigation about "Giovanni Henrikssen" with the help of Deshawna, and is killed by Jerry Delucci in S1/E5: My Kind of Town. Jerry captures the two and proceeds to beat them. Geir frees himself of his bonds and struggles with Delucci. A shot is fired and Geir bleeds out on the floor. One of his last words was "Laila..."
